Building products for the global 10,000 to productize AI for their mission-critical workloads, and teaching students who are building the next generation of AI and hardware capabilities.
I help companies define and build the products that make them AI-first — without losing the plot on what their customers actually need.
Today I am VP of Product at Teradata, leading enterprise AI strategy and delivery for Global 10,000 clients across a multi-billion-dollar portfolio. Before that, fourteen years at IBM — Chief Data Officer, Head of IBM Research Singapore, Director of Product for AI on IBM Z, and a stretch inside IBM Automation running a billion-dollar portfolio.
I have filed twenty-two patents and learned that the most interesting ones come from a room full of researchers who disagree. I have shipped enterprise AI products to help global enterprises productize AI for mission-critical workloads; the products I incubated won iF Design and FinTech Futures awards, and a few that didn't — both taught me more than any book on strategy.
I also teach. Eighteen years as Adjunct Professor at NC State, a curriculum picked up by twenty-eight universities, and a long list of former students who now ship things of their own. Teaching is not a side project. It is the work. Some of the engineers I taught now run product teams. Some now run companies. Many have built and run the AI systems we all rely on.
And I am the founder of the AI Impact Foundation, where we are building the measurement infrastructure for AI's effects on the people it touches — especially the children growing up inside of it. The most consequential question in AI right now is being asked with nowhere near the rigor it deserves. The Foundation is the work of fixing that.

Leading enterprise AI product strategy, roadmap, and delivery across Teradata's multi-platform architecture — serving Global 10,000 clients across a multi-billion-dollar business. Defined and brought to market the complete Enterprise AI product suite: Sovereign AI, Enterprise Vector Store, Enterprise Feature Store, ModelOps, AI Workbench, and AgentStack.
Led vision, strategy, and go-to-market for AI on IBM Z — a multi-billion-dollar business. Delivered the complete suite: AI Toolkit, Machine Learning for z/OS, Synthetic Data Generator. Won the FinTech Futures Banking Tech Award and iF Design Award. Drove 45× adoption growth.
Owned product strategy and P&L across three strategic portfolios — DevOps, Cloud Pak System (>$500M) and Application Integration (>$500M). Established the GitLab strategic partnership, launched Gen 4 Cloud Pak System, and delivered 2% portfolio revenue growth.
Led a global lab of researchers, software engineers, and designers advancing Blockchain, AI, and Secure AI. Translated applied research into real-world deployments — AI-powered crowd management for Singapore's Land Transport Authority, maritime safety systems, and Central Bank Digital Currency frameworks.
Multiple leadership roles. CDO for Blockchain Technologies — delivered IBM's Blockchain Platform SaaS and was named Top 5 CDO globally by Innovation Magazine. CTO of Innovation for IBM Middleware — co-invented the MQ high-speed messaging appliance and filed 22 patents. Program Director for Blockchain product management.
Leading scientific research and teaching advanced graduate courses in ASIC Verification and Hardware Architectures for Networking. Curriculum adopted by twenty-eight universities worldwide, producing a pipeline of engineers hired into top-tier technology firms.
A small collection of nods from the places that watch the work closely.
Trained at NC State — PhD and MS in Electrical & Computer Engineering. The dissertation was on hardware architecture for network intrusion detection. The classroom never quite let me go.
I have done several different things in life — working in an oil refinery, running a global research lab at IBM, teaching — but the thing I enjoy the most is productizing deep tech and teaching. I have spent the past several years productizing AI for mission-critical workloads for Global 10,000 customers.

I have defined and shipped complete enterprise AI suites — Sovereign AI, Enterprise Vector Store, Feature Store, ModelOps, AgentStack. I have brought AI capabilities to multi-billion-dollar portfolios at Teradata and IBM, managed large P&L, translated research into production, and made build-vs-partner-vs-buy calls that held up.

I have brought AI products to market that won the iF Design Award and the FinTech Futures Banking Tech Award, drove 45× adoption growth on IBM Z, and built strategic partnerships with NVIDIA, AWS, Google, and Microsoft. I can take a product from positioning to pricing, sales enablement, and the first wave of real customers.

I have managed multi-billion-dollar product portfolios and led AI product management for multi-billion-dollar businesses at Teradata and IBM — Enterprise AI at Teradata, AI on IBM Z (45× adoption growth), and the IBM Automation portfolio spanning DevOps, Cloud Pak System, and Application Integration ($1B+ combined). I have owned strategy, roadmap, P&L, and partner ecosystems at scale. I can step into a portfolio leadership role and operate it like an owner.

I have run IBM Research Singapore — a global lab of researchers, engineers, and designers — and shipped applied research into government and enterprise: AI-powered crowd management for Singapore's Land Transport Authority, maritime safety systems, and Central Bank Digital Currency frameworks. I can stand up and run programs that turn research into outcomes.

Eighteen years as Adjunct Professor at NC State, with curriculum adopted by twenty-eight universities. Published in Forbes, IBM Blog, Medium, and Teradata Blog. Keynotes at Teradata Possible and IBM events. I deliver hands-on workshops on enterprise AI strategy, trusted AI, agentic systems, ASIC verification, and the research-to-product pipeline.
